Guðný Guðmundsdóttir (b. 1970) has attracted attention for her large drawings which display exceptional sensitiveness and an innovative elimination of traditional mediums. The exhibition in Hafnarborg will display sculptures and large drawings where she combines forms and poetic illustrations which are similar to the drawings in the book ‘Skólaljóð’ or School poems. The main emphasis is the scale of the drawing and her interpretation of forms and architecture in three dimensional sculptures. Guðný lives and works in Berlin and after her studies in Iceland she moved to Hamburg to complete her further studies.
